Contrary to popular belief, BG9 is not ‘The Knowledge’. His true ability is to convert matter to and from digital and physical forms. He can store data about any ability or weapon he has analysed in his ‘Database’ as data, and use his epithet to convert this data into physical matter to use in 3-dimensional space.

This is why he can bring a minigun out of nowhere, how he can change his body’s composition at will and is also why he wanted to study Sui-Feng; he was collecting data to add to his repertoire.

BG9 is a computer who was given/obtained Quincy powers (somehow???). The red light is synonymous with the Power light on most PCs. He has never breathed because he is artificial. His mask is shaped in vertical slits (like a barcode) because, like any computer, he can only see the world through binary.

 

N- The Nearsight

 

To certain degrees of obviousness, most Sternritter’s appearance gives a clue to their abilities: NaNaNa’s abdomen is exposed (The Underbelly), Candice’s lightning hair shapes (the Thunderbolt) being two examples. Dearest Robert is no exception.

Robert’s epithet lets him materialise himself or others anywhere where the enemy isn’t looking- and it lets him do this instantly. He can basically teleport to any location you are not focusing on which lets him obtain surprise attacks really easily (Shunsui, Ichigo, Liltotto). He deliberately goes for Shunsui’s eye for the exact purpose of making it even easier to use his ability (Notice how he always targets the head).  He makes use of the Wandenreich’s shadows to create darkness (note: areas you cannot see due to darkness) to move Soldats as well.

His Vollstandig Grimaniel (movement of God) refernces his rapid movement as well as the blurred shape of his wings. BUT Did you also notice the shape of his wings is roughly the shape of his eyes?(with the blur effect) This is another hint as his Ocular based ability.
